PortServer TS 8/16シリアルサーバは、簡単で信頼性とコスト効率の高いRS-232/422/485 シリアル－イーサネット接続を広範なアプリケーションに提供します。本製品は、ハードウェアに依存しないソリューションを提供し、TCP/IP をサポートするネットワークサーバ・アプリケーションへのアクセスを実現します。

PortServer TS 8/16シリアルコンセントレータは、Digi が特許を取得したRealPort® COMポートリダイレクションソフトウェアを搭載しており、各ポートにおけるRloginとTelnet のセッションの送受信はもちろん、ローカルシリアルポートの機能も提供します。Digi Port Authority－Remote (DPA-Remote）は、ネットワークやシリアルの動作をWindows/UNIX ベースのクライアントやサーバから監視する管理ツールをPortServer TS ユーザに提供します。

さらに PortServer TS 8/16 は、LAN トラフィックの不正なモニタリングを防ぐSSH v2 の暗号化機能、問題解決のための重要情報を管理Unix サーバのシリアルポートから取得できるポートバッファリングの機能も備えています。
